Medical-Legal Partnerships
A patient’s illness is sometimes complicated by problems that require more than what the typical health care provider independently can resolve. Baker & Daniels co-founded the Indiana Health Advocacy Coalition which developed Indiana's first medical-legal partnerships. The Medical-Legal Partnership improves health care for patients in Indianapolis by pooling knowledge and resources provided by doctors, lawyers, social workers and academics. The inter-disciplinary program is currently operating in three Indianapolis hospitals and plan to expand to rural sites are underway.

IU-Kenya HIV/AIDS Treatment and Abatement Program
The Academic Model for the Prevention and Treatment of HIV (AMPATH) is Kenya's most comprehensive initiative to combat HIV. Developing out of a partnership between Indiana University's School of Medicine and the Moi School of Medicine in Kenya, the initiative is a working model of urban and rural HIV preventive and treatment services in the public sector.

National Children's Hospital & Medical Center
In addition to a robust schedule of public and community service, Baker & Daniels' Washington, D.C. office provides counsel and advocacy for a number of groups which provide assistance to low income and challenged individuals, particularly in the areas of public health and education. The office has built a pro bono relationship with the National Children's Hospital and Medical Center to provide several key professionals with strategic advice on forming and beginning operations of a center targeting childhood obesity in the D.C. area.
