Baker & Daniels' Life Sciences Corporate Group includes more than a dozen lawyers with deep expertise in life sciences, many of whom have been focused on the industry for over a decade. We provide the full spectrum of corporate and transactional legal services to life sciences companies.

We are transactional counsel to leading pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostics companies. We represent them in acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, supply and distribution arrangements, licensing, financing and other matters. In some cases, we manage entire segments of their legal needs and develop templates to enhance the efficiency and autonomy of their internal procurement and other non-legal professionals.

We serve as outside general counsel to emerging life sciences companies. In these relationships, we advise the Board and senior management in their review and analysis of strategic priorities and opportunities, including funding, licensing, partnering, M&A and product development. We represent these clients in connection with their outsourcing needs in areas such as formulation development, clinical trials and other contract research, manufacturing and marketing services.

We have substantial experience in the formation of public / private partnerships, where corporate, academic and government institutions come together to stimulate new business activity. We have been lead counsel in the establishment of public / private partnerships to develop proteomics technologies, health information systems, and biomarker discovery services.
